Got this and played it twice yesterday, very Police/Yes/10cc influenced, poppy with a slice of Prog and nice guitar/bass lines from Mr Poms. A bit of a concept album too. Recommended. |

I've been listening to it for the last couple of days. 4 or 5 really good songs, the rest I'm still not sure about. Mr Poms' playing is, of course, top notch though. I see what you mean about the Police / 90125-era Yes influence. There's a bit of Keane and even Roxy Music in there too.
Perhaps it's just the guitarist in me, but what I think it lacks are some great guitar riffs and solos (like Mr Rabin provides on 90125).
But I'll persevere! |

I'm currently giving this album a spin. Very impressed. It's filling the IB gap for me nicely. Quite 80s influenced with a nod to prog. Like you guys, I'm getting Police influences but surprisingly I'm getting a hint of Prefab Sprout as well (eek, sounds like a wine tasting session!). Recommended choonage _________________ Innit. |
