I've been listening to the new Jadis album. Pretty good. V similar in sound to their previous albums, though perhaps a little heavier on the guitars and drums.

I've also just got a copy of World Trade, following my 80s prog thread. Pretty good. I read that it's not unlike Big Generator, and there's some truth in that. Big drums and late-eighties production. It's more like a good 80s rock album than a prog album really, but it's a pleasant listen.

Very Happy Been listening to One day remains in the car this week, not as good as their second album Blackbird, but Alter Bridge always seem to be my default band to listen to these days..well them and Steven Wilson. They have a new album out now too, which i haven't purchased yet but they really do make albums of a rare quaity and standard. Reminder..must put Blackbird in the car Laughing Very Happy

Very Happy Don't know if anyone has heard of them, but i went to see a band at the institute in Birmingham last week called Whiskey Myers Question It was an absolutely incredible gig. I went with a mate that has all of their albums, but bought the one CD that he recommended after the gig " Firewater ". I haven't taken it out of the car for a week now, it's a brilliant album, and i'd say they were a cross between Blackberry smoke and Lynnerd Skynnerd with a little Gin Blossoms thrown in for good measure, so if you like your country rock, like i do..check this album out, you won't be disappointed Very Happy

Listening to Floyd whilst working. Currently A Momentary Lapse Of Reason, which will be followed by The Final Cut, then Animals.

Once Around The World. Sounds as fresh now as when it was first released. If I could only have 1 album, this would probably be it.

I'd LOVE to hear OATW either remastered or re-recorded. How cool would that be?!

Finally got hold of a copy of Southern Empire.

A bit heavy in places for me (as most neo prog is, to be fair) but very melodic, and they are fantastic musicians.

Edit: I hope the final track on the album isn't any good, as the second-hand CD I bought won't play that track properly. Evil or Very Mad

Jealous! I was a bit late to the Mansun party unfortunately, so missed out on ever seeing them live.

However, did you know that Paul Draper has announced a 2017 tour? Tickets are selling very well, but I'm hoping I might get to a venue somewhere at some point!
