Well played to the Neal Morse band for 4 UK dates including one in Manchester.
A pity I'm in Singapore that week. Damn it! _________________ What's wrong with being sexy? |

The lad is off at jazz school doing all the stuff I used to do that makes parents cringe - which makes our house rather large for just the two of us. _________________ Oh gods; the liquor store is giving me Airmiles. |

New ... we just polished up Son of a Preacher Man to sing at the open mic tonight
Been learning how to sing CSNY harmonies as we are now three singers. It's darned hard since no-one seems to be singing the melody in those songs - they all just find their part and off they go. Suite Judy Blue Eyes was heaps of fun especially my invented spanish at the end.
If your lads want to learn canadian we have room for them.

Keeping busy then lol
My middle boy has a notion of Canada, I'll encourage him haha. I'm digging through old live gigs at the moment, stuff i haven't heard in years.

Lol when I saw a thread entitled Bollox I had to look. It bugged me for a few years that Steve Hackett didn't seem to come anywhere near Notts or Sheffield, and sometimes not even Birmingham. Then all of a sudden he seemed to start doing so and I've seen him four times in as many years.
Speaking as someone who's now starting to book gigs in, as a new act it can be a risky business traveling far from home, not knowing if you'll have a packed room of enthusiastic punters who will make the night go with a bang and hopefully by lots of merch which will help you pay for the hire of the room and the considerable travel and possibly hotel expenses ... or you may end up with half a dozen equally enthusiastic chaps, the ones who always go to your gigs but who now have every bit of merch you've ever produced and their applause however heartfelt is ever so slightly embarrassing in it's lack of quantity. Paying to play is all too often a reality. It comes to something when well known prog acts like Lazuli have to cancel because of poor sails. But I agree it's pretty annoying when the big boys of prog just come over and do one day in London then feck off. It smacks a bit of laziness not to mention a kick in the teeth to the rest of the fans who can't make it to London or who don't get tickets as the gig sells out in minus 2 minutes . _________________ I would be more apathetic if I weren't so lethargic |
