I've ordered it but after listening to the samples I think I agree with Batchain. It's a bit 70s, which a grey-haired old so-and-so like me should like ... but I'll wait to hear the whole thing as it might grow on me.

I think some of you are missing the point here, this is a homage to his brother who was in Necromandus in the 70s, and what he has created ticks all the boxes. Batchain - sounds more like Focus to me, but sounds fantastic too !! I have just pre ordered it, and can't wait to get the promised MP3 download, so I can bang it on my phone and play it.
Listening to the tasters this morning brought me to tears, I had a feeling like a long lost friend had walked back in, after many many years in the wilderness !!

The guitar sounds are fantastic - and his voice is so much smoother than Bill's.

The turn it up request works with the production ... in this case keys would just muddy it up. It will be strange to have them in the live show.

I think there will be much to like in this cd.

Wait - should order the vinyl 'cause that would be all round goodness.

Very Happy I love the little samplers, and agree with oldman completely. It's supposed to be a homage to his brothers music, which is from the 70's.Hence the copying ( as near as dammit ) of the whole guitar sound.I think it sounds amazing ( as if i wouldn't, i hear you say Question Laughing ) and i'm really looking forward to the live renditions. I know Frank went to great pains to find the right sounding Guitars, amps and effects to do this.Being an old fart, it's like coming across an old but undiscovered album from that era, and can't wait to hear the whole thing Very Happy

It definitely sounds quite retro. I'm excited - the guitars have a right good crunch to the, and about bloody time too.

Agreed Very Happy I keep checking my email, longing for the MP3 link, but alas ....
My Mrs wasn't too impressed I had spent 22 dollars, but as I pointed out to her, 7 are for the delivery from the good old U S of A !

Does it actually say there will be a mp3 download available anywhere in the Shop or order pages or is this from a blog or twitter post Francis made some time back?

There was this:

Quote:
The double album will also be released on vinyl as well as CD and digital download. Those people purchasing vinyl will be given download cards that will give them free downloads of 96k versions of the album.

but we are ordering the cd.

That's funny - I didn't read that bit ... and since I ordered the cd I might even be here long enough to download the mp3s before I head out to Prague on Sunday.

Thanks!

I'm not insensitive to the fact that the album is a tribute to Frank's late brother, but sentiment aside so far this sounds pretty poor low budget stuff, to my ears. I await further soundings.
