Very Happy Well, i've got to say that i thought the first episode of this new series was superb. They even somehow managed to make Lucy Lawless and John Hannah look younger ( always a bonus when it's a prequel lol ) and the story line is shaping up nicely with plenty of dodgy dealings going on straight away. And how good does Lucy Lawless look naked. Embarassed Embarassed Laughing

Reckon they've done a great job on this prequel gazza. There's less CGI and dodgy accents as well. Bodes well for the second series. Gannicus is a brilliant character. But will he survive the arena? We will have to see.

Very Happy Watched this weeks episode last night, and as brilliant as it was, i was dissapointed to find out it is the last episode next week. The last series must have had 24 episodes, and this series has six. Very dissapointing Confused

Yes, a mini series leaving everyone wanting more. Here's a review. Next series will be called "Spartacus: Vengeance". Lucy Lawless will be in it; just wounded at the end of the first series.

Very Happy My mouth is watering at the very thought of Lucy Lawless, but if Gannicus is also in it, it should be fantastic. Can't come around quick enough imo. Have to make do with the re-runs, although the box set is out on monday, and will make a great pressie, as both Stoner and lil gazza are both hooked too lol Laughing Laughing

Very Happy Yeah, i thought it was pretty cool too Bat.I think the new Spartacus is going to take a bit of getting used to (for me anyway) but great to still have some of the old cast in there.I was watching some of the extra's on the dvd the other day,and cant believe what a great actor and person Andy Whitfield
came across as,fantastic sense of humour considering what he knew he was going through,so sad Sad

Best one-liner so far. Gannicus speaking to Lithyia:

“Raise voice again and see tongue ripped from ****ing head”.

Smile I'm still not convinced about the new Spartacus,he's too English and well spoken,i'm not stuck on Andy Whitfield, but he came across as a much better actor and (dare i say it) not as wooden. The characters and storylines are as good as ever, but something is stopping me from actually rooting for the main character now, which was never the case before Question Very Happy

According to Spartacus producer Steven DeKnight, the next series will be "very dirty" and "ethically muddled".
