I got into It Bites by reading No.1 Magazine. I read the interview and bought TBLITW without hearing a single thing.
I kept up with them until EMISL and had heard bits and bobs from Francis in the mid 90s but, by then had moved on to older prog. It wasn't until a couple of years ago I was listening to Kings X s/t album, and on one song their vocal harmonies are pure It Bites. I sought out Big Lad and I was instantly taken back to 1986. I remember reading that No.1 and listening and thinking they were the best thing ever and how huge they were going to be.
I have since found all the albums and cd singles, Francis' stuff, and the new reformed stuff.
It feels right. Like a band that in 1986 who were so special to me have become it again. Hard to express.
Thanks No1!

Welcome Mustel,
Its quiet round here at the minute, but I see you've impeccable taste with King's x & It bites.
I've just finished Greg Prato's King's X bio and thought it was brilliant.

Im reading the book atm. Up to Gretchen. Its a great read.
Apparently Doug was a big It Bites fan. Makes aense. Big similarities when thinking what waa happening in their resoective countries and scenes. Both never getting the big break they deserved.

Ive just gotten into Tall Ships. Really enjoying it. Has really made me realise the brilliance of John Beck.

I have moved on this week to Map of the Past. Really good. Am I right in thinking its more Mitchell less Beck? Im really enjoying it, but it feels a bit less Bitesy to me.

I do like how the last 4 songs seem to form a suite. Very cool.

I much preferred The Tall Ships.

We live in hope of a third album, though JM seems focused on other things

Agree. Although I love map. The tall ships is a better album.
And yeah a third album would be mighty.
