Being the Manics fangirl that I am, I was blown away to get tickets for a very intimate (approx 200 people) James Dean Bradfield acoustic gig on behalf of the Velindre cancer charity, of which he's a Patron. The gig took place last week just a few miles from my home, which was a billy bonus when it came to travel logistics!

The gig was just him, an acoustic and a couple of stories of when he'd previously worked behind the bar in the venue in which he was now playing. He plugged in for 'Motorcycle Emptiness', though, and even managed acoustic renditions of a couple of tracks from 'The Holy Bible' - and if you've heard that album you'll know that's no mean feat. The highlight for me, though, was hearing 'Suicide Alley' live for the very first time. I will now die a happy woman!

Cracking gig and a great cause. What's not to like?
