Welcome Steviedan. What are your thoughts on the Dunnery vs Mitchell debate? Just getting it out of the way... _________________ What's wrong with being sexy? |

Hey Bonecrusher, I'm definitely 'old school' IB, a Dunnery man through and through... As Frank alluded to recently in Prog magazine, Mr Mitchell is a great musician but the band lacks energy these days. It's just not the same, so I'd rather just go back and wallow in the nostalgia! I've never been quite the same since a friend took me along to see the lads play at Brunel University in 1988, a few months before 'OATW' came out. I was just astonished how good they were. |

Well, thought i'd just jump in here. Hi there Stevidan and welcome. Re FD verses JM, well I'm sort of inclined to think that if Francis won't go back or isn't wanted back which ever it is, they've got to have someone if we want them to go on. I agree that there's not as much energy in the band, but hearing some of FD's recent albums I wonder if there'd be as much if he went back to the band? After all to quote Genesis "None of us are getting any younger". Plus, I thought Tall Ships was a great album that without Mitchell probably wouldn't have been made. I must confess that I haven't got there latest one yet, it's on a verry long list of prog I have yet to listen to. So overall, yes I would like to see FD back with it bights, but then i'd like to see Gabriel and Hackett back with Genesis with a ground breaking new album, or i'd like to get Nick D'vergilio in my band, but we must be greatful for what we have. Lol. _________________ I would be more apathetic if I weren't so lethargic |

I'm looking forward to Roger Waters rejoining Pink Floyd too!
Anyway - welcome. Favourite IB album I'm guessing is OATW? |

Nice quote from the rather rare but fine track "Pigeons"!

It would surely not have been made without JM simply because he wrote the whole album together with John Beck in the first place. _________________ If music be the food of love, play on (Twelfth Night, W. Shakespeare) |

Hmm, was actually quoting from Down And Out, but you're quite right, it's in Pigeons as well. It must have been a reoccurring theme at the time.
