Thanks for the tip. One or two interesting things on there.
I've just listened to the Galahad album. Not bad...didn't appeal to me as much as "Empires Never Last" did but I'll listen again and then...who knows? If I'm near a merch table at a gig (yes Summer's End, I'm looking at you!) and it's there, I might be tempted. Smile

Just to respond to my own post, I bought Galahad's "Battle Scars" at Celebr8 and "Beyond The Realms Of Euphoria" at Summer's End. They're neither of them better that "Empires..." but I'm glad I got them.

I'm checking progstreaming.com pretty regularly now....useful to know about.

inabsentia posted lots of useful and interesting stuff. I really miss his pointers to new music and his personal favourite stuff of the year list. I hope that his family is coming to terms with their sad loss.

Maybe we should/could do something in recognition on the forum to the memory of inabsentia? Any thoughts?

Maybe we could have a 'sticky' thread entitled

'The 'Inabsentia' recommend an album post

or something like that. I got loads of tips of great albums off him. Met the guy once at an It Bites gig in Birkenhead and a true gent he was.

Like myself Inabsentia liked his music on the heavier side. His last recomendation iirc was Circus Maximus (Nine) which I still play regularly, and love. There's already a large space on the forum which will be so hard to fill.

Ive been listening to Ten's latest release Heresy and Creed, from the same stable as Circus Maximus,(Frontiers Records) and I just know Andy would love this band, their latest single "Gunruning" is brilliant.

And yes Pual, some sort of recognition would be a fitting tribute to a much missed forum member.

Couldnt agree more guys...we need something to show our recognition for Inabsentia.Like you,i miss his posts greatly, always looked forward to his top 100 at the end of the year and got into bands like Haken thanks to him.

Would also like to echo Pauls thoughts and hope his family are coming to terms a little better with their lose.
Sad

How about. . . . . . re-naming the 'Other Bands' section of the forum to 'Other Bands - a tribute to Andy Barnes (Inabsentia)' Question
