Yes. But I can't remember the name. We stayed in a complete dive that is very close to the Met. Rooms are above the pub but the landlord was hillarious & let us drink all night. He also let friends come in after hours who weren't staying there. If you're drunk enough you won't care about the rubbish rooms.

Actually there is a Premier Inn there on Knowsley street - not far from the town centre. Pretty new as well.

Only downside is probably no all night drinking..... Wink

I won't be at the gig this time, but when I go to Bury I always stay in the Rostrevor hotel, which is within easy walking distance of the venue: http://www.rostrevorhotel.co.uk/

I reckon the salubrious establishment Rachel means is The Old White Lion on Bolton Street. 75 yards from The Met (and 10 yards from my business establishment!!). It's an old-time boozer, generally for old-timers & characters! I just nipped in and asked about room rates.. 28 for a single or 45 for a twin (no doubles!). Single rate seems OK (if you're Ok with cheap and cheerful, but if there's 2 of you, the Premier Inn 300 yards away) is probably similar price and nicer/more boring!!

Be aware also though that The Old White Lion is slap bang in the middle of Bury's nightlife, which is.. lively till about 2.30AM!
[i]The Rostrevor is about 3/4 mile out of town and there's the Village Hotel about a mile out of town... Straight off the M66, but quite bland/corporate.

...Get yourself in the Old White Lion and get razzed with all others!! Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

That definitely sounds like the place. I'd forgotten we had seperately beds. Fingers crossed, I'll be one of the noisy ones making the most of the night life.
