Cool My vote goes to young Mr Harrison of Porcupine Tree - what an astonishingly tasteful and powerful player!

Who else peeps??

Sir Bob has got to be on the list too! Cool

Not going to argue about Gavin Harrison, cos he IS excellent, but you really need to check out the drummer with Mars Volta - Thomas Pridgen, take a bow! Saw them at Somerset House in one of their open-air summer concerts this year. The whole concert was great, but the drummer was just mesmerising - grinning from ear to ear while effortlessly pulling off weird time signatures. Check the video clip on here (you'll have to copy and paste - the automatic link identifier cuts off the last part):

Make sure there's a cushion on the floor for your jaw to drop onto first! Very Happy

"I don't believe it!" (to coin a phrase) - apparently Thomas Pridgen is no longer the drummer with Mars Volta! Honestly, they're worse than Spinal Tap (though I believe 'most' of the ex-Mars Volta drummers are still alive...) Wink
