I know this may seem like a stupid question, as if your using a high capacity player, then "most or all of your cd collection" is probably going to be the answer!?
However, can you remember back to the 80s when they used to ask the question "what's on your walkman" in Smash Hits? This is what i'm getting at.... what are you listening to right now??

For example, mine's on shuffle at the moment, and so far this morning i've had:

Don't push your foot on the heartbrake - Kate Bush
Three O Blues - John and Wayne
China: Yellow Leader - Andy Summers and Robert Fripp
Golden Retriever - Super Furry Animals
Woodcat - Tunng
Mr. Pessimist - Tears for Fears
Fantasy - Edin Karamazov
(I'm looking for) Cracks in the Pavement - Duran Duran
Tears are not enough - ABC
Wouldn't you miss me - Syd Barrett

Phew! - what a mixture

What problems are you having? Are you installing from the disc that came with it, or from the apple site?

I'm struggling to think of a reason why this is happening. You'll have to leave it with me, and i'll have a think!

My mate's got a problem with his, in as much as he's lost his playlists, music, video, podcasts, etc. from down the left hand side. Everything else is there, but they've vanished.
He's tried re-loading it, but it still comes up with those bits missing!
Anyone got any ideas on that one too?

Touch wood, I've not had any probs with mine whatsoever.

Mine goes tits on avarage once every two months for seemingly no apparent reason. He's not lost his music files just the link to the library. 1st off, make sure itunes has the library file where it ought to be, if you don't use the default ( as I don't ) it may have reverted to the installation settings..

2nd find your music files and drag and drop them back into itunes. You'll have lost playlists and history but that went when itunes lost the link to the library file I'm afraid. Still it's better than having to upload everything again.

3rd, don't ever, ever move any file that might conceivably have some connection to itunes

itunes is a caky bit of software in that some people don't have any trouble with it and some people curse it for all it is worth. I seem to be in that latter category. If I could have all the hours back I've spent sorting mine out..........

Thanks Pollypocket. I'll pass the message on. Whether he'll have a clue what you're on about is another thing! ha ha

Luckily (touch-wood) I've had absolutely no problems whatsoever with mine. I did lose all the artwork off the iPod itself once, but I'd disconnected it without ejecting it first, and you're not supposed to do that! I just went back into the toolbar, clicked "hide artwork", then went back in and clicked "show artwork" again. It's been fine ever since. Smile

I got an o2 XDA mini , with my tom tom card in , its a full sat nav system , or 4GB sd memory in , a windows media player which i can shrink DVDs on to , or over 40,000 songs , i can browse the internet , oh , and its a phone Very Happy
The original XDA does all that too , and Apple are banging on about their new players which do video and internet, behave , these types of pocket PC phones have been doing it for years , at half the price too Surprised
